So first we will root the device using framaroot which can be downloaded from here. But do remember that this is am universal method and might not work on all devices, so better check it out on Google how to do it on you're device. After installing framaroot you will see this screen, then select install super su from the drop down down menu and tap on gandalf, after that reboot your phone and if you find super su asp there, your phone is rooted.

After you have rooted your device, you'll have to choose which recovery do you want to install. There are mainly three types of recoveries for android which are TWRP(Team Win Recovery Project), CWM(ClockWork Mod Recovery) and Philz Toch Recovery. The recoveries looks like this...
