How to Root Moto G 2nd Gen 2014 Install Custom Recovey Unlock Bootloader | Fastboot Method Guide

Hi guys this Shubham aka ThunderBolt. Today I will be showing you how to root Moto G 2014 by Unlocking its Bootloader and installing custom recovery. Rooting Moto G is not much that easy, but customizing the phone after is much easy. You can install root apps and custom ROMs in your device after rooting yourBut do remember that this will VOID WARRANTY AND WIPE YOUR INTERNAL MEMORY AND APPS. So do it on your own risk.


To root your Moto G 2014 you'll need the following things:
  1. Moto G 2014 ;P (get it from here.)
  2. Fastboot ADB zip (get it from here.)
  3. Motorola USB Drivers (get them from here.)
  4. Micro-USB Cable (get it from here.)
  5. Google Account or Motorola ID login details.
  6. TWRP Downloaded (get it from here.)
Now follow me step by step to root your moto g.
  1.  First Download the Motorola drivers and install them, then reboot your pc.
  2. After that download the zip file and extract it to a folder.


 
 
 
  1. After that Power off your device, and when it vibrates press the power and volume button simultaneously to get into Bootloader.
  2. Now go the the folder where you extracted the zip file and press shift+right click in a blank space and select open command window here.
  3. After that connect your device to your pc via USB cable, now the Bootloader will show USB connected.
  4. Then type fastboot devices in the command prompt to see your device. Don't close the command prompt.
  5. Now type fastboot oem get_unlock_data in the commandprompt to get large code.
  6. After that right click on this code and go to Motorola site, and after logging in with your device's google or Motorola ID paste this code in the given space. Remember to remove all spaces in the code, then click on check and click on get code. This will send an Email containing a code, copy this and go to command prompt and type fastboot oem unlock unique key . Unique is the code received in your Email. Paste using right click.
  7. Now move the TWRP file into the folder where you extracted the zip file, as in the image. Now remain it to recovery.img(this includes the file format) . Now open the command window and type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img , now wait and disconnect the USB when everything's done. now go to recovery by using volume keys in the Bootloader of your phone.
  8. This will boot TWRP, now select reboot-system, when you will select this it will ask you if you want to install supersu, that is root your phone, swipe to root your phone.
  9. After that your device will reboot and you will be in setup wizard and after that you're done.
